This is a preview at screen pixels. It is not a lettering rule or a readability score. Check the final printed size with your artist.
Measuring text…
Text wraps using the browser’s font measurements. Long words and unspaced text break at character boundaries. Red lines indicate overflow; lower lines may be clipped.
Test the words in the space they need
Paste one speech bubble. Adjust width, height, font size and padding. The browser measures the displayed font and wraps each line. Explicit line breaks remain. The preview compares line height with the inner rectangular text area.
This is a rounded bubble with a conservative inset. It does not model every hand-lettered shape or guarantee print readability. Its pixels describe screen geometry, not a physical print size.
Revise before shrinking the lettering
“The lamp has gone out, and I think that we should row across the harbor to find out what happened” can become “The lamp went out. Then we row.” Shortening text can preserve the art. It can also change the character’s voice, so revise deliberately.
Red lines indicate overflow. Text beyond the canvas is clipped in the PNG. Enlarge the bubble or shorten the text before exporting. Check the final print size and language with your artist.
Return to the script builder to update your dialogue. This utility does not send text to a model or use a fixed words-per-bubble rule.
Common questions
How many words fit in a speech bubble?
It depends on the bubble, font, size and language. This tool measures actual text wrapping instead of applying one word limit.
What does overflow mean?
The wrapped lines exceed the chosen inner height. Lower lines may be clipped. Shorten the dialogue, enlarge the bubble or adjust the font.
Does a fitting preview guarantee readability?
No. Review the lettering at the final physical print size. A screen preview cannot replace that check.
