The open-source app on Hugging Face
The original AI Comic Factory is a Hugging Face Space by the user jbilcke-hf. It makes a comic page from one prompt, and it was running on October 27, 2026. The code is open source under the Apache 2.0 license. Its GitHub copy is archived, and the last change to the code was on October 30, 2025.
You can run it yourself. By default it uses the zephyr-7b-beta language model and Stable Diffusion XL through Hugging Face. Its settings also accept OpenAI, Groq, Anthropic or Replicate keys. The README warns that other models need code changes, and the default setup stops at 6 pages.
The paid site at aicomicfactory.com
aicomicfactory.com sells AI Comic Factory as a subscription, at 1 credit per panel. Its page title says "Generate Comics with Hugging Face" and its gallery shows examples from jbilcke-hf. The site does not say who runs it or how it relates to the open-source project. The open-source README names a different address, aicomicfactory.app, as the official website. That address did not load when we checked.
